🚐 Pickup & Drop-Off

Our morning pickup route begins at 8:30 AM. Exact times vary depending on the route and dogs booked that day.

You’ll receive a more precise pickup window the evening before.

🏡 You don’t need to wait at home

With your permission, provide secure access using a door code, lockbox, or another agreed method. We can pick up your dog and bring them safely home after their adventure.

We’ll message you after pickup and again after drop-off.

Please do not put home access codes in your Interac message.

Individual trackers & small groups

Every dog wears an individual tracker. Packs never exceed five dogs at a time, with companions matched for energy and temperament.

Water, rest & comfort

We provide plenty of water breaks, check the temperature regularly and watch for signs of discomfort throughout every walk. We adjust the pace, take a rest or end an activity when needed.

First aid & swimming safety

We carry a first-aid kit at all times. All swimming is supervised, and life jackets are provided for every dog.

Treats with your approval

Treats are offered only after consulting you about your dog’s allergies and dietary restrictions.

Room to explore

We avoid busy dog parks and choose quieter dog-friendly spots or private locations where we have permission to visit. Activities follow local leash rules and each dog’s agreed permissions.

Happy dogs, muddy paws

We’ll do our best to clean your dog before drop-off. It’s an adventure walk, though—expect a little dirt and some muddy paws! 😊

Pickup and drop-off updates

We do our best to share live progress and updated pickup and drop-off estimates. Confirmed clients receive an invitation to our WhatsApp community with their booking instructions, for status updates, a tentative pickup/drop-off order and live location updates when available.

Times are estimates and may change with traffic, weather and the needs of the pack. Exact home addresses and access codes are shared privately, not in the community.

If there’s an emergency

We will contact the pet parent immediately and take the dog to the nearest emergency veterinary hospital. If we cannot reach you, we’ll use the emergency contact and treatment authorization in your signed agreement.

A few details for your day

Meeting us at a location

Please be at the agreed location at the confirmed time. We can wait up to 10 minutes before continuing our route for other dogs.

If you are delayed, contact us to arrange a safe handover. Additional care for delayed pickup or drop-off costs CAD $5 per hour. Alternatively, we can arrange pickup or drop-off for a one-time CAD $10 charge, subject to availability. We will confirm the arrangement and any charge with you.

Your two-hour trail walk

The two-hour service includes the time from pickup to drop-off, including travel. We agree on a start time with you beforehand and aim to find a suitable trail within 5 km of your address.

If a suitable trail is unavailable, we’ll provide a two-hour leashed pack walk with dogs of similar energy and temperament. We’ll confirm the plan with you before the outing.

Before joining the pack

To help keep every dog and person safe, all dogs joining our pack must:

Be non-aggressive

Dogs must be non-aggressive toward other dogs and people, and able to share space safely in a group.

Have up-to-date vaccinations

All vaccinations must be up to date before joining an adventure, including current rabies and DHPP (or an equivalent titer test).

Worth discussing with your vet: leptospirosis and kennel cough (bordetella) are not required to join us, but they are well worth a conversation. Our adventures are outdoors and in a group — lakes, puddles, wildlife and other dogs are part of the fun, and both illnesses are more common in that setting. Whether they suit your dog depends on their age, health and history, so please make that decision with your vet rather than with us.

Be spayed or neutered

All dogs joining the pack must be spayed or neutered (fixed).

Booking & Adventure Policies

Simple policies to keep adventures safe and fair.

↩️ Cancellations

Bookings changed or cancelled at least 24 hours in advance can be moved to another available date. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable and use the booked package day.

❄️ Severe Weather

Normal rain and snow are part of the adventure. If road conditions become unsafe, Scooby’s Den may delay, modify, or cancel service.

If we cancel for safety, you receive full service credit and do not lose a package day.

🌊 Swimming Safety

All swimming activities are supervised, and life jackets are provided for every dog.

🌲 Adventure Flexibility

Trail, activity, duration, and intensity may change based on weather, trail conditions, pack dynamics, age, and each dog’s needs.

📸 Photos & Videos

We’ll do our best to send you photos and videos from every Adventure Day. If we can’t send an individual update, follow Scooby’s Den on Instagram @scoobys_den26 and Facebook for regular videos, fun photos, and a peek at our adventures!

🐕 New Dogs

New dogs may be asked to start with a single Adventure Day before buying a multi-day package so we can make sure the experience is a good fit.

Hi, I’m Ansuman.

A lifelong connection with dogs.

After more than 20 years in a successful tech career, I’m making more room for something that has always been part of who I am: life with dogs.

I grew up surrounded by dogs and have always felt a deep connection with them. Their little expressions, their energy, the way they tell you what they need without a word—I’ve always felt I understand them on a soul level. If you know, you know.

I’ve always been involved in animal rescue, both in India and here in Canada. My dream is to open a rescue ranch—a place where dogs in need can feel safe, heal and find the care and belonging they deserve.

Scooby’s Den is a step toward that dream, and my way of turning this lifelong connection into something I can share. Being outdoors with dogs, watching them explore, sniff, play and settle into themselves, is where I feel most at home.

I want your dog to feel understood, cared for and free to be themselves. That’s the heart of every adventure we take together.

Every dog who joins us becomes part of our day and our family. Our goal is to give them a wonderful adventure, with the attention, affection and thoughtful care we would want for our own dogs.

We do our best to accommodate the little things that make your dog feel comfortable and understood. As a small business, we know that plans may sometimes change and things may not always be perfect. When that happens, we’ll communicate openly and work with you to find a solution.
